  • Bass tackle:  In the bass tackle section I talk to you about what bait should be in your tackle box, hooks sinkers, fishing rods and reels.
  • First let me talk about which bait you should have in your tackle box.  First is a plastic worm.  It's best to get this bait just because you can use this bait just about anytime.  The color worm you should choose depends on the water you have.  If the water is clear I would use a pumpkin seed worm.  If the water is murky I would use a black color worm.  Another bait you should have in your tackle box is a spinner bait.  Spinner bait have metal pieces on it that are usually in different shapes.  these metal pieces hang off of a skinny bar.  The spinner bait also has strips of rubber hanging down from the head of the bait, this is called a skirt.  The type of spinner bait you should get is the one that has the metal pieces(blades) that look like a leaf, this type is called a colorado leaf spinner bait.  The color that I think is best for a spinner bait is chartreuse, this is a bright green color.  The last bait I think you should have in your tackle box is a crank bait.  This bait is round and has a plastic bill on it.  The crank bait usually comes with built in rattles.  I would suggest that you use a crank bait with a small skinny lip or bill.  If you have this type of crank bait, you are less likely to get caught or hung up on something.
  • Bass gallery and THE BIG BASS COMPITITION:  Is a monthly activity which allows members to compete for prizes monthly for their big bass catch.  The monthly winners will receive a gift and have their bass entered in the end of season weigh-in where the Jr. angler with the biggest catch of the season receives  a $250.00 educational savings bond.  The competition begins July 1st 2004 and ends December 1st, 2004.  Winners will be notified by December 30th.  To enter the competition you must be a member. You and your parent/guardian must have signed and returned the club registration form agreeing to fish by the rules of character counts.
